I got this in an email, I'll give you my thoughts before you read it. A lot of it I like, I don't know about pushing away all of our allies, some of them we have some major trade going on, and it benefits our economy, but we do need to get our nose out of everyone else's business, and focus on repairing our homes and families.
I think the biggest issues facing us today are these:
1. We need Universal Healthcare, everyone should have access, no matter what it costs.
2. Education - State schools should be funded by the people, so that everyone has the great opportunity of going to school and not having to worry about gigantic school bills. It would also help our economy if new professionals, instead of starting work only to pay back their school bills, could instead start financing their first home, right out of college.
3. The war - it must end. It's too costly, and every nation we've built up - fails in 5-10 years, history will keep repeating itself, until we quit trying the same thing over and over again expecting different results. (by the way that's also a definition of insanity.
4. We need to get rid of the corruption in politics. - I got a letter from Chris Cannon, congressman from Utah - regarding a letter I submitted saying we need him to back Universal Health care -- he basically cited a bunch of lies for why Universal Healthcare cannot work, and would be detrimental to our society. My thought is we need to create a blacklist of ANTI-HealthCare Senators and Congressmen. A site dedicated to destroying the candidacies of these individuals, because those who back the healthcare lobbyists, are complete scum and deserve to be out on the street without a job. Chris Cannon and everyone who opposes Universal Healthcare, really need a rude awakening...
Anyways, here's the really cool email.. I hope you like it! (of course I'd add to it, give Universal Healthcare to all Americans, and Impeach Bush, and send him to jail for Treason, Crimes Against Humanity, Perjury, Starting an Illegal War, Defiling the Constitution...)
WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR ANY U.S. PRESIDENT GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?
"My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of the Iraq regime has been completed. Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.
This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now time to begin the reckoning.
Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short . The United Kingdom , Spain , Bulgaria , Australia , and Poland are some of the countries listed there.
The other list contains every one not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.
Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.THEN EVERY YEAR THERE AFTER IT'll GO TO OUR SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM SO IT WON'T GO BROKE IN 20 YEARS.
The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hellholes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.
Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France .
In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Mess with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth.
Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France or maybe China
I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France , Germany , and Russia . Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bonne chance, mez amies.
I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York
A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not ticking us off for a change.
Mexico is also on List 2. It's president and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra thousand tanks and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put 'em? Yep, border security.
Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty - starting now
We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we'll be drilling for oil in Alaska - which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come. If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there.
It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, "darn tootin."
Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America It is time to eliminate homelessness in America To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thank you guys. We owe you and we won't forget.
To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic.
God bless America Thank you and good night."
If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier.
(Please forward this to at least ten friends and see what happens! Let's get this to every USA computer!)
Here we are supposedly the greatest nation in the world, our economy is tanking, millions of Americans are losing their homes, the stock market is crashing, and to top it all off a large population of our country can't afford proper insurance, 50 million are un-insured how many more are under-insured?
It's an epidemic, if it isn't taken care of soon, there is going to be a revolt, or civil war, it is inevitable. Right now as I see it, 75% of politicians are corrupt, and instead of listening to those who vote for them, they listen to those who pay them the most money -- aka the lobbyists.
Now I ask you this, what is a police officer? A civil servant or public servant. What is a senator or congressman? A public servant. Is it legal to bribe a police officer? Hell no! Then why is it legal to bribe those who make the laws that the police officers enforce? That's ludicrous.
It throws everything in the constitution away.
It's we the People, for the People, by the People. Not we the People, for the Richest people, buy the Rich people.
To be healthy and able to live a long life is a right.
It is essential to the pursuit of happiness, and Liberty.
Insurance companies and the billing industry around them is costing us 300 Billion dollars per year, - it's aLL fluff, needless money spent on a needless industry that is not making a difference.
We are the only developed nation in the world that cares more about money and companies than it's own people. Someday that is going to bite us in the behind and there will be a war because of it.
We need to fix our homes before we go fix another nation. Get out of Iraq, come home, apply the excess money to repairing America.
What are your opinions on Universal Healthcare - I can't see why people would oppose it? England has been successful with it since World War 2, Canada, France, Sweden, Germany, Norway, Cuba, etc... All successful in running Universal Healthcare - without the quality of care suffering, at all.
Why then is America so afraid to adopt it?
Please leave your comments Yay or Nay. I currently am insured, I pay $200 a month for isurance for my wife and I. I make $1500 a month, that's a huge chunk of money we currenty only afford to live paycheck to paycheck, how much stress would be relieved if we didin't have to worry about our healthcare. I'm sure crime would go down, and the stress of our collective nation would be a lot less.
Anyways I'm off to church.
