This has been an awesome month for "There's a Blog in my Soup". We have had a tremendous amount of traffic. Most of which has come from stumbleupon, and google.

Our traffic for the month is 46,512 - Of course this is liable to go up a little before the end of the day.

The majority of my traffic comes between 13:00 hours and 19:00 hours.

My unique hits for the past 7 days is: 4,286.

My total hits for the past 7 days is: 28,331.

Since March I've had 156,587 total hits with 32,926 unique hits.

I'm very excited with the growth, and am working hard to put up seasonal posts per each holiday that will bring in some good targeted traffic year after year. I'm also working on increasing the amount of posts that I write each week. My goal is to break 500 posts by the end of the year.

A little background on Ghost Hunters:

If you haven't seen the show, it has been on the SciFi channel since October 2004. It highlights a team of paranormal investigators led by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson.

Plumbers by day, and ghost hunters at night, Jason and Grant explore private homes, businesses, tourist locations, and even government facilities that are said to be haunted.

They are very scientific, and work hard to debunk all claims, and unlike many paranormal shows that seem less than genuine, ghost hunters works hard to make sure to only give their 'haunted' declaration if it meets their guidelines.

Ghost Hunters, has also launched a spin-off series called Ghost Hunters International where they explore haunted castles, monasteries, grave yards, alleys, churches, and sites from the old world. Some of the cooler locations were Dracula's Castle, The Lair of the Blood Countess, and the Castle where Edward Longshanks ruled(Think evil king from Braveheart).

Ghost hunters are also ramping up to go to college, with a new spin-off series following College Students looking for Ghosts with experienced TAPS members.

Are you ready for the monster mash? (2 Videos: Original / Simpsons version)

(My Original Blog Post: http://www.theresabloginmysoup.com/are-you-ready-for-the-monster-mash-2-videos-original-simpsons-version/)

[caption id="" align="alignright" width="240" caption="Image by prettywar-stl via Flickr"]Monster Mash[/caption]

I absolutely love "the monster mash", definitely one of my favorite halloween songs. This song is definitely a classic.

Bobby "Boris" Pickett's song was originally launched in 1962, I couldn't believe it was so old, I  remember listening to this song growing up in the 80's.

Watch these two versions of Monster Mash - and let me know which one you like best!

Here's the simpson's version of the monster mash music video on youtube:

Here's the original Monster Mash video by Bobby 'Boris' Pickett & the Cryptkickers:

Here are the monster mash lyrics:

I was working in the lab late one night
When my eyes beheld an eerie sight
For my monster from his slab began to rise
And suddenly to my surprise

He did the mash
He did the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
He did the mash
It caught on in a flash
He did the mash
He did the monster mash

From my laboratory in the castle east
To the master bedroom where the vampires feast
The ghouls all came from their humble abodes
To get a jolt from my electrodes

They did the mash
They did the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
They did the mash
It caught on in a flash
They did the mash
They did the monster mash

The zombies were having fun
The party had just begun
The guests included Wolf Man
Dracula and his son

The scene was rockin', all were digging the sounds
Igor on chains, backed by his baying hounds
The coffin-bangers were about to arrive
With their vocal group, "The Crypt-Kicker Five"

They played the mash
They played the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
They played the mash
It caught on in a flash
They played the mash
They played the monster mash

Out from his coffin, Drac's voice did ring
Seems he was troubled by just one thing
He opened the lid and shook his fist
And said, "Whatever happened to my Transylvania twist?"

It's now the mash
It's now the monster mash
The monster mash
And it's a graveyard smash
It's now the mash
It's caught on in a flash
It's now the mash
It's now the monster mash

Now everything's cool, Drac's a part of the band
And my monster mash is the hit of the land
For you, the living, this mash was meant too
When you get to my door, tell them Boris sent you

Then you can mash
Then you can monster mash
The monster mash
And do my graveyard smash
Then you can mash
You'll catch on in a flash
Then you can mash
Then you can monster mash

Dallas Fortworth Earthquake Rumbles Across Texas

(My Original Blog Post: http://www.theresabloginmysoup.com/dallas-fortworth-earthquake-rumbles-across-texas/)

Texas Earthquake hits in Irving and Grand Prairie.

[caption id="" align="alignright" width="240" caption="Image by debaird via Flickr"]i'll take earthquakes, thanks[/caption]

According to noaa.com and usgs.gov, two earthquakes shook dallas texas last night on October 30th at 11:30 Pm, and the other at 12:01 am this morning.

The first texas earthquake shook it up at a 2.5 magnitude. The second dallas earthquake came in at 3.0 on the ricter scale.

These earthquakes were strongest in the Irving and Grand Prairie areas.

For those lucky enough not to ever been through earthquakes, a 3.0 feels like a light truck passing by, just a sharp jerk, and some vibrating.

Personally, I blame the Dallas earthquake on Texas's support of John Mccain, lol.

8 Reasons why MyWorldPlus is the perfect business in a down economy..

(My Original Blog Post: -*http://www.theresabloginmysoup.com/8-reasons-why-myworldplus-is-the-perfect-business-in-a-down-economy/)

MyworldPlus - The perfect recession-proof business.

Fact: More and more people are losing their jobs. American express announced today that they are going to be cutting 7,000 jobs.

With this economic climate it's scary. People are afraid - you may think your job is secure, but find out next week that you were wrong.

Of course I hope Barack Obama can fix things when he gets in, but that won't be till January - and the whole next year may be worse than it is now.

Why did I start my network marketing business (MyWorldPlus)? I've been researching an opportunity for quite awhile, I've looked at several.

5 major reasons why I joined MyWorldPlus:

Reason #1: The product. The product is a card that saves you money at hundreds of thousands of stores, restaurants, entertainment venues, etc... you also can receive cash back on purchases at over 600 online stores. These are stores that you would be shopping at anyway like target, sears, etc..

Reason #2: The cost: The monthly cost of running this business is less than $20. That's less than the cost of a nice dinner out with my wife. However, when you add the savings from the discount card, it practically pays for itself.

Reason #3: The easy system: Their system is as easy as pie. You can give it a try before you buy so to speak.  I was already in profit before I joined the company thanks to their powerline structure. I had 134 paid members below me - before I even joined! The system is easily duplicated.

Reason #4: The upline support: The upline members are top-notch. They hold weekly trainings, and really know how to build this business. I can pick my sponsor's brain anytime I want to, and that's what I like about this business.

Reason #5: Easy qualification for big money: Myworldplus has an easy plan to promote. All you need to receive the first pool is 3 personally enrolled active members - which I can easily help you with, and teach you how to do.

I highly recommend you giving the plan a try - it's free to try out the system. I'm absolutely positive you will like what you see.

3 reasons why this business is perfect in a slowing economy:

1. People are hurting for money - helping them save money is like putting more money in their pocket.

2. Building a home business is a recession proof way to build job security. Wouldn't it be nice to be earning just an extra $1000 per month every month - that could weather the storm if you did lose your job?

3. Many people are living lives of desperation right now. This could be their salvation. You could help a single mom get back on her feet by offering this business to them, you could help one of the million plus people who've lost their jobs this year.

I'm not saying this just to get you to join my team - I know that things are hard, they are hard at my home too, I've lost a job back in May, and know what it's like.

Give MyWorldPlus a shot, I'm positive you won't regret it!

Barack Obama's 30 Minute Infomercial - He hit a homerun on this one!

[caption id="" align="alignright" width="202" caption="Image via Wikipedia"]Barack Obama speaking in Houston, Texas on the...[/caption]

Wednesday October 29th Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama aired a multi-network television ad, lasting a full 30 minutes.

In this ad he asked the American people for their votes in the last days of this most historical presidential election campaign.

The ad was extremely well produced, and very emotional. He said he wouldn't be a "perfect" president, but he promised "I will always tell you what I think and where I stand."

The ad featured interviews with real citizens hit hard by the economic crisis - such as an automotive factory worker, and retirees losing their health care coverage.

The ad also spoke of Barack Obama's relationship with his parents, wife, and children.

At the end of the 30 minute obama commercial, Obama appeared live, making an appeal to florida voters.

Personally I think the video was very well done, and definitely heart warming and emotion pulling. It was definitely a good video and will bode well for his campaign.

Have a Happy Debt Free Christmas - 4 Ways to Save Money this Holiday Season

(My Original Blog Post: http://www.theresabloginmysoup.com/have-a-happy-debt-free-christmas-4-ways-to-save-money-this-holiday-season/)

Don't break the bank this Christmas - Shop Smart!

[caption id="" align="alignright" width="202" caption="Image via Wikipedia"]An artificial Christmas tree.[/caption]

The holidays are fast approaching, and more and more people are losing jobs. The fact is things are looking bleak.

More and more Americans are feeling the pinching claws of debt. The holidays are a joyous season.

I think of beautiful holiday music, dazzling holiday light shows, spending time with family and friends, gathering around the Christmas tree, the look on a child's face when they get that special toy they've been dreaming about. Yes Christmas and the holiday season is a magical time.

The holidays can be scary too... If you don't plan accordingly - it is very easy to go into debt fast. Most people fail to plan ahead and instead buy all the presents at the last minute, paying with a credit card.

In this financial climate, when there's no such thing as a 'secure job', when it's getting harder and harder to even get credit cards, we need to make an active stride towards planning our holiday spending.

As the old adage goes - if you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

It is better to skip Christmas, than to go broke trying to make everyone in your family happy. Especially this year, of all years.

Here are some tips that will alleviate the stress of the holiday shopping season, and will alleviate the undue burden placed on your pocketbook as well.

  1. Set a Holiday Spending Budget. One of the biggest problems people get themselves in is not setting a limit to their spending. Fact: When people have no limits they tend to go overboard. Like lemmings on a cliff.Another false thinking is that the more costly a gift, the more that person will enjoy it, or the more meaningful it will be. We all want to be loved, and accepted, especially by our friends and family - but it's not the cost that matters - it's the time and thought that went into a gift. If those around you are the few where price is an issue then you should definitely seek new friends who won't bring you down. You must set a budget, and not exceed this budget. There are two parts to this - first create a list of people who you think need gifts, and prioritize these people. Not everybody you know needs a gift from you - a simple card will suffice for many. There are two ways to stick to a budget if you find your shopping list out-pacing your budget.First you need to set a price on each person, the closer they are to you the higher your price, second you may need to decide to cut percentages, or remove some people altogether and opt for the greeting card instead. If it makes you feel guilty for not getting a gift - think of it like this, if you knew that your gift someone went out of their way to buy you, was going to put them in debt, even make them in danger of losing their home, or not being able to put food on the table - would you still want the gift?

To be successful and frugal in this down economy we are going to have to swallow our pride and let people know that we are having some hard times and if you let them know you're thinking about them, and are genuinely sorry that you can't do more than a card, they will be understanding.

  2. Begin saving for the Holidays as early as possible.
It may be late to be saying this as I'm writing this so close to the season. But there's still almost 2 months till Christmas if you save a little bit per paycheck even that should make things easier.

Here's a great method of starting saving early. First decide how much you will need for next Christmas, for travel, gifts, food, etc. Divide that amount by 11 - the number of months until November. Then set up an automatic deposit into a savings account just for the holidays. You absolutely must be disciplined, this is not money that you can spend, otherwise you may end up ruining Christmas so to speak.

  3. Chop up those Credit Cards Now! This may sound bleak and disturbing, but if you want to be debt free, then you need to live on cash purchases. Credit card debt only amounts to losing thousands of dollars in interest fees. Don't get caught in this trap, it can destroy your life. The worst part of using credit cards - is making bad choices. If you must keep the card - then put it somewhere safe like a block of ice in the freezer, or in a safety deposit box. This will make you seriously consider each and every purchase, and you will find many purchases aren't absolute needs, and you will be less likely to spend frivolously.

  4. Be like Santa: Check your list, and check it twice - see who's Naughty or Nice. You only have two months left this year, and if you don't have everything saved up, you may just need to cut some people off your list this year. This sounds harsh, but now that you know how to have a frugal christmas - next year you can spend double to make up for it.Whatever you do don't go into debt. It's better to not spend any money than to go into debt - make that your mantra.

Last and not least if you are still having troubles getting out of debt, or it seems nearly impossible - you may need to seek help. Debt Clear is a great program for people with large debts 10,000+. They help you negotiate lower debts, and workout payment plans with your credit card companies. I highly recommend giving them a try: Legally Erase Your Credit Card Debt Today!

Secret's Out: My TWO Biggest Money Makers.

(My Original Blog Post: http://www.theresabloginmysoup.com/secrets-out-my-two-biggest-money-makers/)

First, my top money maker is Market Leverage.

I absolutely love this program. They have some very easily converting programs. My advice to get the most from this program is to write blog posts on their products.

Example - I wrote a sponsored blog post on a pay-per-action debt product called 'debt clear'. The post can be found here: "Legally get rid of credit card debt - Forever!"

I wrote this post on August 29th. To date I've made $56 in September and $16 this month off that one blog post. This is just one example.

My second top money maker is find-it quick. This program actually pays you per impression, and also per click. The more clicks the more you make, but you are guaranteed to make at least $1.00 per 1000 unique hits.

Both programs also offer great referral programs where you get paid for people you refer to the program as well. I highly recommend taking a moment and checking both sites out. Of course I would also appreciate your signing up and giving them a try through my affiliate link.

Also - if you have experience with Market Leverage or Find-it Quick two souces of income - pro or con - please let me know via comments on this post.

Mccain: "Obama shared his toys in Kindergarten- that means he's a communist!"

(My Original Blog Post: -*http://www.theresabloginmysoup.com/mccain-obama-shared-his-toys-in-kindergarten-that-means-hes-a-communist/)

Obama said about being called a socialist "Next thing he's gonna do is call me communist for sharing my toys in Kindergarten"

[caption id="" align="alignright" width="121" caption="Image of Politics"]Image of Politics from Twitter[/caption]

I think this is hillarious - Mccain trying to bring up a sixty year old argument. It just shows how old he is. Communism / Socialism was an issue back in the 50's that people kept bringing up and using in politics.

Socialism has nothing to do with Barack Obama's economic plan. Fact is taking money from corporations where ceo's get paid millions of dollars more than they are worth and giving it to those who buy their products, or work for minimal wages is more than fair.

I don't think anyone is worth 20,000,000 +, if I were making that much I would give 20% or more just to charity - and I wouldn't mind paying higher taxes to help the poor and middle class who are struggling to get by.

I think all Mccain has left is petty attacks. Personally - I think the only people who should get the 95% of tax cuts are those who voted for them - screw the rest of ya... It's a fact from independant agencies that more regular Americans benefit under Obama's plan, vs Mccain's plan where only big corporations benefit.

If you vote for big corps to get the money then you shouldn't receive a dime. A vote for Mccain is a vote for no Tax cuts for the middle class.

As for me, I cast my vote for Obama - on the very first day of early voting here in Ohio. I had just moved a few weeks before so I registered to vote, and voted on the same trip. It was extremely easy, straight-forward. I feel good about my choice, and decision and it has been a weight off my chest. I don't have to worry about long lines on election day either.

And the Next Big Mccain Supporter is... Al Quaida?

[caption id="" align="alignright" width="235" caption="Image by earthpro via Flickr"]John McCain and Sarah Palin[/caption]

Well it's not Colin Powell...

Apparently an Al Quaida Jihadist is supporting John Mccain by calling for a terrorist attack on America before election day to ensure that Mccain is elected and thus ensuring the further demise of the American economy, and eventually the military as well.

This endorsement makes the Aires thing sound like a dream. Seriously, I don't know why he's still even trying. John, do yourself a favor - drop out before it gets worse...

On top of the Al Quaida endorsement is the fact that the Mccain campaign spent $150,000 just on designer clothes for Sarah Palin.

Now isn't she supposed to represent the American hockey mom? How many hockey moms have a $150,000 clothing bill?

They're trying to peg Obama as an elitest - now who's an elitest? If they waste that much money on clothes, where else will they waste money after becoming President.

We really can't afford John Mccain, not to mention Sarah Palin's clothing bill.

Mahalo joins the Layoff Express. Bastard, Laying people off is Unamerican!

[caption id="" align="alignright" width="202" caption="Image via Wikipedia"]Jason Calacanis at Gnomedex. Jason: [/caption]

It seems that all we here of is more and more companies laying people off, my question is why can't the people at the top just take pay cuts - maybe the CEO's should make 50,000 or so a year until the crisis' are over, then they can beef up their income to astronomical figures.

I'm not necessarily railing on Jason Calacanis - But I'm sure he gets paid plenty to do his job, but heaven forbid that when a company is failing the person in charge loses their income, or at least some of their income, instead the innocent worker-bee gets canned.

Same goes for yahoo, and all the other corporations laying people off. I would even submit that laying people off is an UN-AMERICAN thing to do. The country is in a crisis - the more people that lose their job the worse it's going to get all around - think about it.

If you're in charge of a company that's laying people off you are part of the problem not the solution.

Imagine a company has $10,000,000 per year to work with. Has 100 employees, and 10 Executives. Each employee makes $30,000 - a total of $3,000,000. Each executive makes $400,000 ($4,000,000 total). Leaving $3,000,000 for expenses and overhead.

Now profits dry up a bit and things start looking bad, say you need to free up another $300,000, and the easiest way to do that is a 10% layoff plan, or laying off 10 workers.

Now you can be a petty ceo and can the workers, put them on unemployment, and food stamps draining tax dollars and being un-american.

OR...

What if each worker-bee would take a $5,000 paycut to ensure that everyone stays on the payroll - that would be $500,000. $200,000 more than the layoffs. Of course how fair is that?

What if everyone from the top down took a 10% paycut?

Well that would be $3000 for the worker-bees, and $30,000 for the execs. That would amount to: $600,000.

What about cutting workers pay a little more - if they agree to it, in exchange for some stock options for when things look up?

This is a simplified look - there are many other options, but I believe when our country is in dire need - layoffs should not be an option, there's a better way.

Bill Gates is back - Starts BGC3... Bill Gates Company#3?

Apparently Bill Gates has launched a new 'think tank' startup. Nobody really knows more than that, there's no official statements, or websites. All that is known is that he's leased office space, and that he has a federal trademark as a 'think tank' dealing with:

• Scientific and technological services.
• Industrial analysis and research.
• Design and development of computer hardware and software.

Personally I'd like to see him start something huge in the green industry. I'm sure he could come up with a nice plan to get the nation moving in the right direction of being weaned off oil.
